The Last Week
After the large pre-Christmas jump on the 19th December to 112.18 prices have naturally fallen back. With few trading days over Christmas and leading into the new year break the index fell back to the 100 NOK offered level on the 23rd and continued to fall this week. Offered prices have sat around the 97 NOK level this week, closing at 96.43 on New Years eve, in thin trading and small volumes.
FX rate remained flat this week, off of the pre-Christmas highs with the rate moving around the 11.85 mark and closing at 11.84.
Spreads widened massively this week and sit around 12 NOK, the biggest gap between 4/5s and 5/6s at 8 NOK.
Next Week
Early indications showing prices around the 95 NOK level for the index as we head into the new week. That puts us down small (-1.25 NOK) from Week 1 close.
Spreads have reduced substantially between 3/4s to 5/6s to nearer 5 NOK between these weight classes.
The EUR NOK FX rate is this afternoon around the 11.79 level down 0.05 since yesterday. This would give an indicative Euro index price around 8.06 EURO on offered levels Friday.
We wish everyone a very happy, healthy and successful 2026.

FAQ’s
Q. How do electronic markets work?
A. Electronic platforms perform many roles for markets and market participants.
By bringing a community together you get a much better view of available inventory (liquidity), access to more participants, more opportunity for price discovery, ability to track market pricing electronically in real-time, pre-trade checking and secure and robust confirmations between parties. They throw off mountains of data that can be used to analyse pricing, trading patterns, counterparty performance etc.
Further, they can provide a single point of connectivity for settlement and documentation and an independent and verified record of truth. They provide huge efficiencies in process, less errors, automation of orders / trading / settlement processes. They give participants the ability to access the right price for any given market condition, and free up staff time to focus on optimising business and relationships especially in times of stress.
