The LFEX Norwegian Exporters Index for Week 25 2025 ended the week DOWN -11.30 NOK / -14.70% to stand at 65.55 NOK (in EUR terms 5.68 / -0.97 / -14.63%) FCA Oslo Week ending Thursday vs previous Thursday.

The NOK rate ended DOWN at 11.55 (-0.01 / -0.09%) to the Euro over the period Thursday to Thursday. The Fish Pool Euronext future July was reported DOWN Thursday to Thursday -0.10 / -1.57% at 6.25 EUR, approximately 72.19 NOK.

The Last Week

A busy week with a lot of price movements in both fish (down) and currency (rate up). The week kicked off at 74.69 on Friday -2.81% from the prior week close. The odds were in favour of falling prices and we saw this consistently across the week. Corpus Christi meant Poland was closed on Thursday taking demand out of the market. Middle East tensions add a further layer of tension. Monday saw 72.37, another 3 NOK off on Tuesday and Wednesday and while still down the Thursday close at 65.55 flattened the curve a little. FX opened at 11.46, saw a low of 11.42 on Tuesday before jumping 1.1% over Wednesday and particularly Thursday to 11.55 close.

Spreads compressed to 2 NOK evenly spread between 3-6s.

Next Week

Indications this week see the index opening around the 64.5 NOK level as offered prices continue their fall from last week – and a full 10 NOK lower than this time last week. Volumes and quality of fish are good, which continues to exert its pressure on pricing. Middle east remains a concern. A lot of volatility in price discovery.

EUR NOK FX rate is 0.09 higher at 11.64 this afternoon, this would give an indicative Euro index price around 5.53 on offered levels later Friday.

Volumes – Fresh Export

Volume figure for week 24 (2025) was 18,505 tons up 1,708 as compared to 16,797 in 2024. Volumes for week 25 and week 26 (2024) were 18,125 and 17,377 respectively for comparison.

Historical Price Guidance for Next Week

The LFEX Norwegian Exporters Index for Week 26 2024 ended the week down -4.79%, -3.77 NOK to stand at 74.94 NOK (in EUR terms 6.58) FCA Oslo Week ending Thursday vs previous Thursday.

The NOK rate ended up at 11.39. The Fish Pool future June was reported down – 1.60, -1.94% at 80.9 NOK.
